Smiler Crash was “Human Error”
BREAKING: Alton Towers have confirmed that the June 2 Smiler crash was the result of human error.
Following their investigation into the events, the park has released a statement saying: “The investigation concluded that the incident was the result of human error culminating in the manual override of the ride safety control system without the appropriate protocols being followed.”
The park also confirmed that the ride will reopen in 2016 with new safety features implemented.
