Chessington begins the season far from a wild adventure

Chessington World of Adventures throws its gates open for the 2015 season, despite numerous of its major rides remaining closed.

The Surrey based theme park and zoo began its 2015 season today, suffering from a shaky start.

“Unexpected maintenance issues” have reportedly led to the delayed opening of some of the park’s most notable attractions including Bubbleworks, Dragon’s Fury, Griffon’s Galleon, Rameses Revenge and Vampire.

Dragon's Fury is one of the major rides that remains closed during the season opening.

Guests visiting the park were greeted by a sign stating the ride closures, and were also presented with a letter from resort management. The letter entitles guests to return at any point during the 2015 season for £10 per person.

All of the aforementioned rides will reopen this weekend (Saturday 21st March), but Vampire will remain closed until ‘essential parts’ are delivered to the park.

Despite the £10 return offer for all guests visiting today, the response on social media has been far from enthusiastic:

In the meantime, Chessington are advising guests to enjoy their brand new for 2015 show, Penguins of Madagascar Live! Operation Cheezy Dibble.
