London Fire Brigade also claim part of an attraction has been damaged. No details of this attraction have been given, but the cafe backs on to Bubbleworks.

The fire service was called at 8.30 this morning (before the parks 10am opening), and 40 fire-fighters and eight fire engines attended the scene. The fire affected an area of 2,500 square metres. .

Craig Carter, Station Manager of the London Fire Brigade, said:¬†“There were a lot of flames and the area was quite smoky when we arrived, but thankfully firefighters are making very good progress.”

“Luckily it doesn’t seem like anyone has been involved or injured. We’re working with our partners at Surrey Fire and Rescue Service along with the police and ambulance services to ensure the incident is brought safely under control.”

The fire is now ‘under control’.

The Creaky Cafe is also very close to animal enclosures, and all animals have been moved to a safe place. There are no injuries reported.

The park was intended to open today for Festive Zoo Days, but the decision has been made to close the park all day.
