Surrey Police have confirmed claims that they spoke to Thorpe Park staff during an investigation into the Asylum maze: yet Thorpe Park deny any contact with the police.

Dr Nuwan Dissanayaka contacted Surrey Police to report Thorpe Park’s Asylum maze as a hate crime. Consequently, an investigation was carried out and a letter was sent to Dr Nuwan that confirmed Thorpe Park would rename the maze.

Despite this, Thorpe Park denied the claim that Surrey Police had ever contacted them regarding this matter, and have released a statement which clearly states they have not confirmed anything.

Today, however, a Surrey Police media spokesperson told Airgates: “Runnymede neighbourhood officers have conducted enquiries into the report and have liaised with partner agencies and staff at Thorpe Park”.
