Thorpe Park Trial Reserve And Ride

By Michael Mander

Thorpe Park are currently trialling ‘Reserve ‘n’ RIde’, a new system designed to eliminate queues.

The system allows guests to queue virtually rather than physically, meaning they have more time to enjoy the park.

Using their smartphone, guests must visit http://reservenride.co.uk to be given a time to join the queue for The Swarm. When they have reached their time (denoted by a timer reaching zero) they show their smartphone (now displaying a QR code) to the ride attendant.

Settings allow guests to receive email notifications when it is their time to ride.

Paper tickets are also available from Swarm Island.

On their website, Thorpe Park have said: “We have listened to guest feedback and understand that queuing remains a frustration for our visitors. We are lucky to be able to do this trial using new and innovative technology and this will aid us when planning for future developments in the park.”
