Britain isn’t particularly renowned for its portfolio of world-class waterslides – however when it does open one, it tends to do it in style.

Today, the all-new Tropical Cyclone attraction was officially opened at Center Parcs’ Elveden Forest location by Ellie Simmonds, who won four medals at this year’s Paralympics. Being used to speeding along the water, the new thrilling waterslide proved to be no feat for one of Britain’s national treasures.

Tropical Cyclone is a 200-metre long ride, garnering speeds of 30mph with a capacity of 720 people per hour.  The ProSlide installation requires swimmers board 4-person clover rafts before starting their engaging journey which includes a combination of their TORNADO and BohemothBOWL products.

Ellie Simmonds commented on the £4million investment:

“Center Parcs Elveden Forest was where I first learnt to swim so it’s a really special place for me and my family. The new water ride is amazing and the drop really gets your pulse racing. I have lots of memories here at Center Parcs so it’s great to be part of the opening.”
