Pleasure Beach announce new ride for 2013

A new attraction for next year has today been announced by Blackpool Pleasure Beach, in partnership with Aardman Animations.

Based on the popular Wallace & Gromit claymation movies, the ‘Thrill-O-Matic’ will take guests behind the scenes of West Wallaby Street, with a look into some of the duo’s most crazy inventions.

The ride will open as a dark ride on the park’s Overpass – where the classic Gold Mine ride previously operated. It is believed the same track will be used, but with new innovative vehicles and theming.

As part of the £5.25 million project, guests will be taken through the most popular scenes of the duo’s adventures, taking riders straight into the action.

The new attraction will also feature a themed gift shop, selling the latest Wallace & Gromit and Aardman merchandise.

Managing Director of the Pleasure Beach, Amanda Thompson OBE has said;

“We are delighted to be welcoming Wallace & Gromit to Pleasure Beach.

“Thrill-O-Matic represents a significant investment in the park and we know the characters will be a huge hit with the families who come and visit Pleasure Beach.

“Wallace & Gromit are national treasures and to have them here re-affirms our commitment to attracting families back to the resort for what we hope will be A Grand Day Out!”
