Amanda Thompson yesterday opened the latest addition to Pleasure Beach Blackpool, a Mexican-style high diving show.

The Managing Director cut a red ribbon alongside four divers and Assistant Managing Director Nick Thompson.

Whilst the opening was low-key, Airgates managed to be at the right place at the right time, being fortunate to capture the moment it all happened.

Taking place in the amusement park’s newly designated ‘The Plaza’ area, the La Quebrada High Diving Show takes place every day until 1st September, with three performances daily. Saturday also has an extra later performance.

Catching up with compère Rolan Paterson prior to the performance, he smiled energetically whilst saying it was a real pleasure to be back performing in Blackpool. Le Quebrada performed famously during the 1997 Pleasure Beach season, and featured in a BBC six-part documentary filmed at the park.
