Grand marketing at Alton Towers is on the money

Commencing officially tomorrow, Alton Towers will give away £8,000 as part of a marketing exercise to bring visitors in on on of the wettest summers on record.

Guests are being encouraged to visit the theme park with the thought they could win £1,000 at random during their visit. A lucky winner will be selected at random each day starting Saturday 7th July, through to Friday 13th July, which may be unlucky for some, but not for one competition winner.

The stunt also took place on Monday 2nd July, where a rider on Oblivion was selected to become the first winner of the competition, for use in a promotional video featuring the guests’ initial disbelief and reaction.
