The Swarm point-of-view video officially released

Thorpe Park have released a video showing off their new rollercoaster The Swarm in it’s entirety for the first time.

The B&M Wingrider attraction is set to open later this month, being the biggest investment by a United Kingdom theme park this year. The clip (which can be found on the park’s official YouTube channel) shows  POV (Point-of-View) footage beginning from the top of the 127ft lift hill, and concluding on the break run prior to the chapel-themed station.

Earlier last month, Thorpe Park drafted in ex Red Arrow and RAF pilots ‘The Blades’ to test their latest thrill machine, with the numerous inversions seemingly leaving a great impression. Team Leader of The Blades, Mark Cutmore commented on the experience;

I am a self-confessed adrenaline junkie but even as a pilot used to G-force there were some gut-wrenching moments, and I have to admit the near miss element is eye-watering – you really do feel as if you are going to crash into the structures.”

Full footage of the released on-board experience can be found below. The Swarm is set to open to the public 15th March 2012.
