Magma set to deliver new thrills at Paultons
Paultons Park have now fully confirmed details of their upcoming ride MAGMA, which will be aimed firmly at the thrillseekers market. Published concept art illustrates that riders will career in and out of a volcano building structure, before taking their seats for a drop tower experience.
The ride has been confirmed through Paultons’ social media as being manufactured by SBF Visa, potentially being their ‘Drop ‘n’ Twist’ model. The height restriction will be 1.3m unaccompanied or 1.1m accompanied, allowing families to ride together without being split up. The themeing for the ride has been designed by RMA Themed Attractions, a company who have worked on other successful projects in the UK such as Cadbury World, Thomas Land at Drayton Manor, and Paulton Parks very own Peppa Pig World.
Based off figures given by SBF Visa, the capacity per hour is averaged at around 320, with a height of 25 metres – more than triple that of the upcoming Nemesis : Sub-Terra at Alton Towers which will rely more on creating a thoroughly engaging and atmospheric experience.
MAGMA is set to open near the current Cobra rollercoaster and Edge in Easter 2012.
