After many months of puzzling, Alton Towers have revealed more details of the upcoming thrill ride destined for the park in 2012.

Set to be located in the Forbidden Valley area on the previous Lava Lump climbing wall location, the project has been known as ‘Nemesis : What Lies Beneath‘ in on-park promotional activities including calling cards and viral theming, with a 2012 website prior to further details being released today on New Years’ Eve.

In a new video on the promotional website, it has been announced that the attraction will be called Nemesis : Sub-Terra.

The video sets the storyline of several adventurers (known as the Phalanx) looking into the unexplored catacombs beneath an amusement park, 18 years after the discovery of Nemesis. Walking by foot through the tunnels, the group discover a mysterious book which holds a forbidden power.

It is as yet unknown what the attraction type is, although the ride has been announced as opening on 24th March 2012.
