Chessington toying with area re-theme

A planning application has been placed by Chessington World of Adventures for a re-theme of one of the family park’s classic areas.

Currently, the Toytown area has attractions aimed mostly at young children, such as Toadie’s Crazy Cars , Tiny Truckers and Flying Jumbos – a picture of which was posted by the park’s social media team this week as it was being dismantled on Chessington’s Facebook page.

Details on the application sent to Royal Kingston council read as a “Redevelopment of part of toytown including the re-themng of existing buildings, creation of a children’s show area with covered stage and seating area and associated landscaping“. It is as yet unknown whether this will include the relocation or removal of some attractions from the area.

The aforementioned  planning application can be found online here.
