Fanta sponsor virtual theme park

Fanta – King of the Park allows theme park fans to play their own games and interact with guests.

Soft drinks giant The Coca-Cola Company have released a new game under one of their famous ‘fizzy pop’ brands, Fanta.

King of the Park allows people using Facebook to create their own park based on a specific layout, with mini-games being released gradually over nine weeks. Games currently released include Pirate Galleon , where players must escape a sinking ship while avoiding scurvy pirates, and also the Bats in the Belfry minigame in which players must suck up ghosts whilst avoiding falling into the haunted house’s depths.

As players ‘level up’, they’ll be able to unlock different ways to interact with guests of their park such as making them explode into fireworks, and having a rock concert in the park’s central plaza. Along with the fun the game brings, there are also prizes up for grabs; including 50 pairs of tickets to Alton Towers each week for top scorers, and a jackpot prize of a VIP trip to Gardaland in Italy for one lucky player and three friends.

As the weeks progress, a number of other mini-games will be released, based upon theme park staples such as the river rapids, roller coaster and carousel. The game is currently available to Facebook users only in Great Britain, Ireland, Belgium, France and The Netherlands through this link: http://apps.facebook.com/king-of-the-park/ .  The online promotion runs until Tuesday 23rd August.
